Rocket is a lot of things. Sometimes, he is a guard dog and sometimes he has behaviors. Sometimes he is a cuddler, a pleaser, a dog on a mission. And sometimes, Rocket is a little simple! Afraid that he might miss the next car ride, Rocket stood at attention near the truck watching for us to let him in. While standing at attention, I threw a jacket over him. Undaunted, Rocket held his pose for several minutes until I finally gave in and opened the door to let him in. The jacket came off only after he jumped into the truck!
While out doing research and taking photos for a book, I took Rocket along for a stroll through a local cemetery. While my partner was peeking in a mausoleum, Rocket stood close by waiting for the door to open. This photo makes me smile every time I look at it.
Never wanting to miss out, Rocket often sticks his nose where it doesn’t belong. Such was the case when we had to “rescue” Frank from jumping off the boardwalk into a bog.
Sometimes, all this silly business wears a dog out. When you are too tired to lay down, you fall asleep with your head up!
