Adoption Day

Rocket and Hoppy on their maiden voyage to their new homes. Talk about an adventure! Our first meeting was high energy. Rocket and Hoppy ran toward us with tails wagging and full of energy. As they got closer, the stench of what they had been living in became quite clear. The strong odor of urine and feces radiated from them and filled the air around us with an unpleasant aroma. Next we noticed that both dogs had cuts, scars, and missing fur around their faces. Their bellies were bare and red. These dogs were not living their best lives. When pressed for details about where they came from or any back story on the two, the only response was a vague, “they were just found on the street”. We were told that there was no idea of the dog breed, but that they were obviously mixed. We heard about how they resembled mixed labs, and that seemed logical at the time, but we were to find out later just what breed we were dealing with. No matter the breed, the story behind their arrival to the shelter, or even their age, which also was a mystery, we knew one thing for certain…these two pups needed rescued from their “Rescue Shelter”!
